Anyway, Puddleduck starts up singing every time that ad is on television and she knows all the words. She bops her head around everywhere while doing it. It's very funny, especially when it's accompanied by Porkchop doing her little bumshaker dance. Ah, the bumshaker dance. Now that's funny. Porkchop is a born comedian. Either that or she has parents who can't take her seriously. The bumshaker dance is the dance she does to everything musical. She stands with her feet in one spot and puts her fists up next to her face and then just sways her hips from side to side really quickly and quite dramatically. It looks like the only thing moving is her bum and everything else just follows. Puddleduck has this little pretend CD player that plays really annoying electronic nursery rhymes. Both MOTH and I can't stand it but the girls enjoy playing with it. One day last month Porkchop picked it up, took it over to MOTH (who was trying to watch the footy) planted it on the ground directly in front of him, switched it on and proceeded to do the bumshaker right next to it. MOTH immediately said, "No, take it to the playroom" So she bent down, turned it off, picked it up and brought it over to me, sitting on the computer only ten metres away. She again put it down, turned it on and did the bumshaker, VERY seriously. I couldn't help but laugh. She reminded me a bit of a very short, very funny busker. Puddleduck and Porkchop are the best of friends. They play nicely together and rarely fight. If they do it's usually because Porkchop is getting tired. She gets quite cranky and horrible when she's tired. She'll smack Puddleduck and pull her hair, yelling and carrying on until myself or MOTH put her to bed. Puddleduck, as usual, handles it very graciously and never hits her little sister back. She makes me so proud. They both do.

My Honeyblossoms
A little bit about my offspring. Puddleduck is almost five, and a gentle, yet, headstrong Leo. Porkchop is two and a bit, and a mischievous, little Gemini. They are both sitting quietly watching television together right now, giving the impression that they are peaceful little angels. Hahahahaha. If only! No, really, they are good kids. Puddleduck is an artist, she creates elaborate pictures of houses and people, flowers and animals. If I give her some paper and pencils I won't hear a peep from her. Unless it's to ask for a drink, or a yoghurt, or a cheese sandwich, or a biscuit. Okay so I do hear a peep from her occasionally. But otherwise, she'll be occupied for hours. The front of our fridge is covered with Puddleduck's artworks (as well as a few scribbly ones from Porkchop - Puddleduck is teaching her). And she loves to sing. She has good taste in music too. Some of her favourite songs are "I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick, "My Sharona" by The Knack and "Brass In Pocket" by The Pretenders. To hear her singing - and knowing all the words - is just precious. The latest favourite, "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash, has come about due to the Kia advertisement, the one where the Dad is in his car rapping with the blokes from Grandmaster Flash and he gets home and he's forgotten the nappies. Just in case you don't know which ad I am talking about -
